HBC BRISTOL x HOT POD YOGA.

HBC BRISTOL x HOT POD YOGA.

Firstly, I’d like to start by saying a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came to our event last weekend! It means the world to both Cam and I. We couldn’t do it without you all and your support!

Myself and Cam have been working together for just under a year to really grow the HBC Community here in Bristol and last weekend, we hosted our second event together.

The HBC is a Community like no other and I am so happy I came across it a few years ago when I lived in London. If you’re not familiar with the community, let me quickly give you the low-down…

“The HBC Community is a mastermind group – a coming together of 450+ like-minded people to help one another achieve common goals and grow. We aren’t an agency: we are a community. The HBC Group is the perfect gathering for small and big bloggers alike. As long as you can prove you have a blog / Instagram account, and are passionate about health and wellness, you’ll always be welcome in our community.”

HBC are located in London so when the opportunity came up to become an Ambassador for HBC here in the South-West, but more specifically Bristol, I obviously jumped at the chance.

When Cam and I first met back in July of last year, we chatted, had coffee and put down A LOT of ideas for future events. Having already successfully ran the first event, Cam had a really good understanding of the audience and people that we’d be attracting to future events. The demographic is different to London but that’s something I really like about the community we’re starting to build here.

What is the HBC x Bristol aim?

When I moved back to Bath exactly a year a go to this very day (!) I didn’t think there was a fitness, health and wellness community here. I also didn’t think that people ‘did’ Instagram. I remember one of the first weekends I ventured into town with my mum, snapped our coffee (obvs) and onlookers though it was the strangest thing! Fast-forward a year, and it’s becoming much more acceptable and more people are doing the same.

However, I still felt as though we could centralise the community to bring others together. Cam and I want to be the go-to people and community for this. We want to home #fitpros, fitness enthusiasts, bloggers and influencers so we can all grow together and make Bristol the next London.

Just because you don’t live in London doesn’t mean you can’t make it as a blogger or a brand for that matter. And that’s one of my main goals with our community. There is more than enough space for everyone and it truly is about collaboration NOT competition. There’s strength in numbers and thats what we both want to achieve.

HBC x March.

Saturday 30th March. Hotpod Yoga Bristol. 60 minutes hot yoga, 27 guests, 6 brands, 3 hours and a jam-packed goodie bag. A lot to squeeze into a short space of time and relatively small venue, but we did it and it was amazing!

Getting to know so many people was the best part. It was a morning of connecting, growing, learning, sweating and of course, sampling!!

I’d like to extend another thanks to the brands that helped support us on the day; Free Soul, Bondi Coffee, Nutcessity, Kinetic Kitchen, Remedy Drinks and Mermaid in England.

Another thanks to Frances & George at Hot Pod Yoga for allowing us to use the venue – you are the dream team!

So, what’s next?

For the mean time, Cam and I are handing it back to the London team as they’re bringing the HBC Summit here! What can you expect?

  • Q&As with leading health & fitness figures on breaking into the industry.
  • Interactive workshops focussing on harnessing the power of your brand.
  • Instructor led yoga classes and workouts.
  • Delicious food and snacks throughout the day prepared by our favourite healthy and wellness brands.
  • Networking with other bloggers and entrepreneurs, as well as brands.
  • A goodie bag bursting with healthy treats and products!

I’ve been to the last 2 summits in London and I cannot recommend them enough. If you’re a brand, an influencer, an agency or just want to pop your head in and say hello, I promise you won’t regret it.

Take a look at the full details here, and buy your tickets now!

Cam and I will release the next event details as soon as we have them but we’re looking at August/ September time. So until then, here are some more photos from our last event – taken by the very talented Gemma @gemmashootspeople.

Takeaways.

It is bloody easy to get lost in the vortex that is social media, something all of our guests agreed on at the weekend. But if there is one thing that you takeaway from this post, please let it be this.

Concentrate on you and only you. Trying to mould yourself or your content into something that doesn’t feel natural won’t work – it’s as simple as that. It won’t feel right, you’ll likely be wary of it and it’ll be obvious.

Social media is a long old game. It won’t happen overnight and trying to fit in exponential growth in such a short space of time will make you doubt yourself which you should never do. Especially because of a platform.

Remember YOUR why. Stay true to yourself and your message. Be consistent and believe in yourself.

Did you make it to the event on Saturday? If so, please do let me know and let’s connect!

If not, we’d love to have you at the next one! Be sure to follow me and Cam on Instagram so you’re in the loop with upcoming events and join our HBC Bristol Facebook Page.
