Youth Lab: An Honest Review!

If you’ve been following my IG stories, you’ll know I’ve recently been harping on about my not-so wonderful skin. For some utterly bizarre reason, it’s decided to take me back to being a hormonal 15 year-old again and an abundance of spots have decided to grace my face. And let me tell you being 24 and having pubescent skin is NOT fun.

But, in the risk of sounding like a broken record and going on about the ins and outs of my woes, I’ve decided to update you with new products I’ve been trying and how I’m getting on with them. So here’s an honest skincare review of the Youth Lab. range!

Youth Lab. is an award-winning brand of advanced skincare that enhances our skins metabolism for healthy, youthful and glowing skin. All their products have been dermalogically tested, are free from parabens, gluten, petrochemicals, harsh detergents and are never tested on animals.

I’ve been using their range for just over 10 days now, and so far, I’m super impressed with the results! They are super light, refreshing, cooling and feel as though they’re giving my skin some much needed TLC and invigoration.

The products aren’t specifically for blemishes or spot-prone skin; instead they help boost your skin giving it that ‘alive’ and youthful glow we all desire. They offer long-term hydration, restoration of elasticity and help to regenerate and nourish our complexions by re-instating oxygen into our skin.

The products I’m using are…

Daily Cleanser for Oily Skin | A daily cleansing facial wash with a difference! It doesn’t contain any irritating ingredients such as sulfates, which can cause irritation and dry out your skin. It acts as a soothing and moisturizing product that leaves your skin feeling hydrated, balanced and most importantly, clean. To be used daily (I use first thing in the AM, and last thing in the PM!)

Oxygen Moisture Cream for Normal Skin | A multifunctional hydrating cream that oxygenates, moisturizes, nourishes and restores your skin. It contains Ribose, which stimulates and increases the cellular respiration of skin cells promoting them to produce their own Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is essential for keeping our skin moisturized and also contributes to anti-ageing! (Woo!) I’ve been using this after the daily cleanser in the PM.

CC Complete Cream for Normal Skin | My favourite element of this product? SPF 30!! My mum preaches the benefits of using a moisturizer with an SPF and now that I’m becoming more aware of what I’m putting on my skin, I can admit that once again, she’s right. The CC cream protects against UV and IR rays as well as acting as a facial sun cream and is an all round winning one for me. Its light on the skin, offers an even matte coverage, covers skin discolourations and smells divine. It’s no wonder this is an award-winning product! I’ve been using the CC cream post daily cleansing during the day.

Cleansing Radiance Mask for All Skin Types | This one immediately caught my attention because it promises to relieve redness and outbreaks in spot-prone skin. I’m a big lover of facemasks as I feel they do purify and refresh my skin. Admittedly I’ve only used this product a handful of times (recommended use of twice a week) but I can definitely vouch for it. My skin didn’t feel tight or as though it was being ‘pulled’ as some facemasks with clay can feel; it was soft to apply and I woke up with fresh feeling and looking skin. It works in perfect combination with the other 3 creams and cleansers in the range.

I’ve been combining these products with an anti-blemish solution I use, and have found that they really compliment one another. FINALLY my teenage-like skin seems to be getting better (touch-wood!).

I was apprehensive about trying a new skincare regime, but I’m so glad that I did! I’ve spent a mini fortune on all sorts of lotions and potions that all claim to banish impurities, but honestly, the Youth Lab. items I’ve listed above, have really started to make a difference and keep it at bay. #prayforamysskin.
